Siemens to Present New PenPhone at Cebit - Hmm, instead of making the keyboard smaller and smaller to miniaturize the user interface, make the user interface your environment. The new tri-band mobile phone packaged in an unusual shape, which Siemens' is calling the PenPhone, lets users write virtual telephone numbers on anything and enter them in that form. Due to the PenPhoneƂ’s integrated handwriting recognition, SMS messages can be written directly into the mobile phone. This product is being displayed in the innovations area and it is not certain whether the PenPhone will be going into serial production.

I consider this in the same family as the projection keyboard we've been seeing lately, which either watch your hand movements or have you where a glove and tap onto a projected keyboard onto a wall, table or your lap.
