NEC's Resonantware R&D projects -
I've highlighted some of NEC's work before as R&D design work with some unique ideas worth considering. Gizmodo concurs and points to a couple extra projects over at NEC that I hadn't noticed before. "Unlike many speculative electronics mockups, these 'Resonantware' designs from NEC are thoughtful and sometimes even practical, showcasing a possible future for lifestyle gadgetry that is both innovative and classy. NEC leads with the 'tag,' a flexible cellphone reminiscent of piece of taffy or those metal 'slap bracelets' that curl around your arm, which can be bent into various shapes for wear or use. Other ideas include 'flacon,' a bottle filled with moving images, a random liquid slideshow, and 'gumi,' a set of DRM-enabling RFID tags, which just happen to be edible."
